It’s not about what you can get, but what you can give.

Christian Rineholt said it best last week, when in speaking of the Barahona Missions Base he said to a group of his peers, “This is not a place to see what you can get, but what you can give.” It must be clearly understood – the new partnership AJM has formed with Ears to Hear is less about what we gain as an organization and more about how much we now can pour out into a community and a nation.

This last week we went out as a team of more than 25 people to the coastal city of Barahona, Dominican Republic. Together, we embarked on what is likely our single largest cumulative undertaking to date. After all of our combined journeys around the globe, it is easier now than ever to see the many foundations which God has been building underneath us long in advance. It truly is a marvelous story of how God uses the foolishness of man to glorify himself (1 Corinthians 1:26-31). Every day we step in faith is another day in which we see more of our foolishness. But, simultaneously, we are revealed even more of God’s goodness and grace. These parts of Him make sure that HE is the only one who can get any glory as we labor forward together.

A Jesus Mission in Barahona, Dominican Republic

To expound further for you, A Jesus Mission has partnered with Ears To Hear Ministries (ETH) to help launch full-time missionaries into the Dominican Republic to serve in a number of capacities. These will include education, water development and provision, a future children’s home, and so much more. A number of years ago ETH launched a missions compound to serve the island of Hispaniola. We have joined forces with them to push forward a great many goals that we believe are established by God as the methods in which we can point people into a right relationship with Him.

In the coming weeks, months, and years, we will be inviting you to read about what we are doing in the Caribbean. We will be asking you to help support by pulling out your passport and joining us on mission. And we will also be asking you to partner with us financially as we work together to teach and preach the Gospel among those who have never heard.
