In the aftermath of the flooding that in Kentucky, AJM is helping facilitate a team to respond and bring aid to those who’ve been displaced from their homes. Volunteers who join will be serving daily from approximately 9 am until 4 pm each day shoveling mud, cleaning debris from destroyed homes, and serving the people of eastern Kentucky in various ways.


WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

 
  • August 14th-20th
  • There is no cost to be a part, however you are responsible to provide your own transportation and food. Lodging and some meals are being provided by a local church.
  • Bring an air mattress in your bag and be ready to serve.

Both individuals and teams are invited to respond. For more information and details on where to fly, what to expect, or how to get supplies into the hands of the team, email Shawn Rineholt directly. We have secured lodging for up to 30 people at a local church in Prestonsburg, KY.

TO GIVE:

 

Donations may be given toward the response here. Make a note that your gift is intended for Kentucky. Gifts-in-kind may be ordered on amazon or hand delivered to Shawn or Jayme Rineholt. Contact them for details about where to drop off or deliver the items.

Supplies in high demand include: Cleaning supplies, can openers, pocket knives, camping gear, nail clippers, neosporin, wash cloths, towels, bedding (pillows & sheets), underwear/panties, shovels, buckets, tote-bins, fire starters (displaced people are currently camping in tents), bug spray, deodorant, brooms, squeegees, toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, non-perishable foods, hand sanitizer, rubber gloves, air Mattresses, etc.
