I got saved in the summer of 2016 from a life of depression, the New Age movement, and a sense of feeling lost. Growing up, I had a casual upbringing in the church. However, as I read the Word and learned from my pastors, I started to begin truly understanding God’s love through the gospel. As my hunger for God grew, the more I wanted to know Him and how to serve Him.
I have served on a few short term mission trips overseas with Calvary Chapel Whidbey Island and Calvary Fellowship. I thought God was leading me towards long-term missionary work. But the more I travelled, the more I saw how hospitality and support was crucial to mission work – even the mundane parts of everyday life. I sensed God was giving me a heart to serve in a support role instead of an international missionary. So I began to invest in a trade by beginning a Bachelor’s in Software Development in August 2020.
I hoped to use the computer skills that I already had to serve the Lord in some way until I graduate. Through several established relationships within A Jesus Mission, an opportunity arose to help out on the tech side of its operations. I’m pleased to dedicate my trade to help support the mission of Jesus with AJM.
