English/Inglés: When I was 9 years old, my parents were called to be missionaries in Mexico to serve at a local orphanage and church. Naturally, my siblings and I went with them and lived life learning the language and the culture. This really sparked my interest for other cultures and missions in general. Coming back to the US 2-3 years later, I would continue to grow in my love for people and culture, serving on short-term missions with my local Church congregation in Tennessee in April 2021 and Mexico in April 2022.

Coming back from Mexico we stopped in San Diego, CA, where we had an opportunity to provide shelter and transportation for Ukrainian refugees crossing the border into the US. That experience gave me a love and desire for the cause of refugees, and more specifically Ukrainian refugees, that I never had before. Two months later, in June 2022, partnering with AJM, a group from our local Church congregation went to Cluj-Napoca, Romania to provide food, supplies, and childcare for refugees in the Cluj area and in Ukraine.

I was almost 17 at the time of the Romania trip, and was considering my path for life. I was looking at colleges, but since the trip I had an incessant desire for missions in Romania and Ukraine, and after praying and talking with Christian mentors, I knew the Lord was calling me to serve there. Over the past year since then I have felt continued peace about my calling and I finished school in June 2023, applied for AJM and will be leaving for Romania on September 18, 2023.

I have so far committed to missions in Romania for 3 months (though I expect to do more). I am working on connecting with the AJM team in Ukraine in hopes to serve there, but no decision has been made yet. In Romania I will be serving at Deo Gloria, a local church, in the sound/video ministry, and I will be working with the church in their vision for a primarily English speaking International church for refugees, as the only churches in the area speak Romanian. And on top of all of that, I plan to serve in ANY area that I feel the Lord calling me to.

A los 9 años, mis padres fueron llamados a ser misioneros en México para servir en un orfanato e iglesia local. Naturalmente, mis hermanos y yo fuimos con mis padres y vivimos nuestra vida aprendiendo el idioma y la cultura. Esto  despertó mi interés por otras culturas y misiones en general. Al regresar a los EE. UU. 2 o 3 años después, continuaría creciendo en mi amor por la gente y la cultura, sirviendo en misiones a corto plazo con la congregación de mi Iglesia local en Tennessee en Abril de 2021 y en México en Abril de 2022.

Al regresar de México, nos detuvimos en San Diego, CA, donde tuvimos la oportunidad de brindar refugio y transporte a los refugiados Ucranianos que cruzan la frontera hacia los EE. UU. Esa experiencia me dio un amor y un deseo por la causa de los refugiados, y más específicamente de los refugiados Uranianos, que nunca antes había tenido. Dos meses después, en Junio de 2022, en asociación con AJM, un grupo de la congregación de nuestra Iglesia local fue a Cluj-Napoca, Rumania, para proporcionar alimentos, provisiones, y cuidado de niños a los refugiados en el área de Cluj y en Ucrania.

Tenía casi 17 años en el momento del viaje a Rumania y estaba considerando mi camino para la vida. Estaba buscando universidades, pero desde el viaje tenía un deseo incesante de misiones en Rumania y Ucrania, y después de orar y hablar con mentores Cristianos, supe que el Señor me estaba llamando a servir allí. Durante el último año desde entonces, he sentido una paz continuada sobre mi llamado y terminé la escuela en Junio de 2023, solicité a AJM y me iré a Rumania el 18 de Septiembre de 2023.

Hasta ahora me he comprometido con misiones en Rumania para 3 meses (aunque espero servir mas) y estoy trabajando para conectarme con el equipo de AJM en Ucrania, pero no hemos tomado decisión. En Rumania estaré sirviendo en Deo Gloria, una iglesia local, en el ministerio de sonido/video, y estaré trabajando con la iglesia en su visión de una iglesia internacional, que principalmente habla inglés, para refugiados, ya que las únicas iglesias en el área hablan Rumano. Y además de todo eso, planeo servir en CUALQUIER área en que sienta que el Señor me está llamando.
