My name is Kayla and I serve in Guatemala. I grew up moving a lot which created a desire in me to see and experience new things.I spent most of my life walking without God but in college I was saved again and began a relationship with the Lord. He introduced me to ministry and connected my desires to serve others with his heart for the world! I am grateful for God’s grace and the purpose he has placed on my life. I currently serve in a ministry that works in the rural villages of Guatemala through community development. We focus on a wholistic approach by having a team that can serve people through medical, spiritual, educational and practical needs. The goal is to walk alongside a village through their local church until they are self sufficient and able to continue without our help. By helping people who are sick, sharing with them about Jesus, providing education scholarships and skills training, we are able to meet many needs in the community and help them get to a place of stability. I love working in remote areas and have a big heart for preventative ministries that work on getting to the core issues of systemic poverty. Prior to Guatemala, I served in different Christian non-profits focusing on foster care, domestic violence and the restaurant industry. I have also spent many years serving with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) and was able to go around the world with them doing ministry and attending their discipleship school. I have a huge heart for the nations and am so fortunate to serve in Guatemala!
