Visa issues and backlog

Since you are reading this, I would like to ask your prayers for an issue that has come up today. 

I visited the Hungarian immigration office today with my immigration lawyer to submit the application to renew my residency visa and apply for permanent residency here in Hungary. For context, my current visa expires on the 5th of February and so I have been going through the renewal steps since December.

However, I have been informed today that there is a backlog of cases and that it could take up to 4 months to be issued a new visa. This would leave me without a visa for an extended period of time. This could cause issues with my ability to work in the country.

So my prayer request is that this process will move smoothly, that I will get my visa issued quickly, and that the permanent residency will be granted so I don’t have to go through this process in another few years.

UPDATE 02/02/2023: The Lord had his hand on this and his faithfulness is there as always! The process was smooth and quick. I was issued a temporary visa while I wait for my permanent residency to be approved and processed. This could still take up to 3 months.
