Growing up in the church, I always felt like an outsider, as I was never accepted into the cliques. Whether it was a feeling of exclusion or quietly suffering with anxiety and/or depression, I never felt like there was a place for me in the church.
It wasn’t until 7th grade, when a girl from my volleyball team finally wore me down with her many invites to youth group, that I finally relented and decided to step outside my comfort zone. That was the first time I felt welcome at a church event and it prompted me to continue attending. About 7 months, The Holy Spirit led me to bow my head and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Since that time, following Christ has been the priority of my life.
I currently serve at Kingdom Coffee which is a non-profit coffee shop that not only builds relationships with the people that come through our doors but wants to give back to ministries through A Jesus Mission financially.
I am soon going to be moving to South Asia to work with an anti-sex trafficking ministry for long term.
